On November 18 and 19, 2017, this year’s Austrian Takeda Budo Championships took place in Vienna. Promotor was the Austrian Federation of Asian Fighting Sports (Österreichischer
Fachverband für Fernöstliche Kampfsportarten, ÖFFK) in cooperation with the International Society for Takeda Budo (ISTB). This event was organized and directed by the traditional Viennese Club Sobukan Union Wien, who did a great work with the support of ÖFFK and ISTB and managed the numerous competitions well programmed and safely.
The Championships covered the following disciplines: AIKIDO Tori Waza Randori and Sogo Randori Shiai, IAIDO Batto Shiai, JODO Tori Waza Randori and Fukurojo Randori Shiai, JUKEMPO Kumite Randori Shiai and in KENDO the Sobukendo Shiai for adults in categories Dan and Kyu. Children competed in AIKIDO Tori Waza Randori and Sogo Randori Shiai, JODO Tori Waza Randori and Fukurojo Randori Shiai and in IAIDO Batto Shiai.
The promotor and the organizer were very content and satisfied by the big number of participants and their enthusiasm, which was reflected in impressive fighting shown by both, the adults and the children. The Austrian Takeda Budo Championships were thus a great success. (For detailed results click here.)
For the year 2018, the next Takeda Budo Championships are already in planning, but due to the wide interest, two separate dates will be provided, one for the weapon disciplines only and another for those without weapons. The announcement of the dates will be done until January 2018 at the latest.
